47 Meters Down: Uncaged in US theaters August 16, 2019 starring Sistine Rose Stallone, Brec Bassinger, Sophie Nelisse, Corinne Foxx. The film follows the story of four teen girls diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their fun Ocean horror is a genre currently lacking, with many of the greatest hits being from decades ago. When it comes to straight up scary ocean experience and overall watching enjoyment, this movie gets a solid 9/10 form me. It gets bonus points for the shark having reasons to be ravenous, and for the writers not being scarred to make bold decisions.
The sequel, 48 Meters Down: Uncaged had a similar setup, but the movie had to beware of recreating the 47 Meters Down ending. Having the same twist ending would never work a second time, so it would be interesting to see how the director went about bringing the action back to the deep water without retreading what the first movie did.

Uncaged is never as suspenseful or scary as the original, yet it makes up for this with its consistently action-packed plot, and innovative scene environments throughout. The setting changes are more refreshingly in Uncaged, preventing boredom effectively. I’d argue Uncaged is a slightly more entertaining, for a watch.
